It Really is Quite Simple

Why do so many find it hard to believe in God and become a Christ-follower?

A) Many people either believe it is hard work, no fun and difficult to become a believer,

OR

B) that God can never forgive them because they are too bad or have done too much or such horrible things

OR

C) that God is responsible for so much hurt and bad things that he is not worth believing in.

A) To the first group I say it is very simple.

Believe, repent and receive.

Two scriptures make it clear for us:

  1. If you believe in your heart Jesus Christ died for your sins and declare with your mouth God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

  2. Whoever believes in me will have eternal life.

Nothing else!

No works or deeds to earn the free gift you must simply accept.

And...... God sends His Holy Spirit to infill and indwell you and help you come to faith and believe (WOW!),

and to then work in you to transform you into Christ-likeness over time.

Scripture even says That He will complete the good work He started in you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you.

B) To the second group I say:

Scripture informs us that "all have sinned and fall short of  the glory of God".

ALL!! Hello!! Not just some of us =we are all equal in this regard.

Who are you to play God and feel that your sin is unforgivable by Him?

Jesus paid the price for our sins and we are made righteous/in good standing with God through faith in Jesus. Awesome! So, just accept Jesus as your Lord and saviour, Simple,

Also,  Scripture tells us that He will remove our sins from us "As far as the East is from the West" when you accept Jesus Christ as saviour.

C) To the third group I say:

God is a loving Father who gives us freedom of choice, so the bad things that happen in life are the result of our choices. Think about the saying "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." He allows us to go through tough times to grow our character,

cause us to surrender to and trust in His loving-kindness, and give us a testimony to help others when they go through something similar.

Also note that Scripture says you will not be exposed to something you cannot handle, and that God will give you the means to do so as well....if you ask Him with belief.

Behaviour follows belief as you respond appropriately to His wonderful sacrifice and free gift of eternal peace with Him.

Accept His Free Gift in Jesus Christ.

Surrender and trust in Him.

What do you have to lose other than the risk of being wrong and spending eternity in suffering, and knowing you were wrong?
