This is a continuation of my first post with this title.

Perspective and context are vital for proper appreciation and communication.

-

Perspective changes over time, and anything can grow on you over time, if you allow it to.

-

Life is both shorter and longer than you realise or wish. There is more time to attend to things that you think, so stop putting it off and just get to it; otherwise the opportunity to do so may well pass you by.

-

Life is not meant to be fair, so stop complaining and comparing, and just get on with it.

-

Getting older is not for wimps. With age comes wisdom, so they say, but also a completely new set of challenges and responsibilities, including all sorts of scenarios around your health and your parents’ health and well-being.

-

People will always be unpredictable, unreliable, inconsistent, inconsiderate, selfish and opinionated.

Realising this will save you loads of disappointment, impatience and frustration.

-

Children and grandchildren truly are a blessing – we are relational beings, and so real hugs are worth more than any words can express, and a child’s unconditional innocent love is priceless.

-

You have so much more to be grateful for than you realise. Take the time to acknowledge and appreciate your blessings.

-

You really don’t know how much something means to you until you no longer have it.

-

Focus on God and His blessings and promises, and things of this world will diminish in significance.

-

Sometimes a leap of faith is actually an impatient act of self-reliance, neither timely nor trusting.

-

Why do we say “expect less so you will be less disappointed”? Is it because we don’t fully surrender the matter to God and trust in Him fully to provide us with the required patience and wisdom? Are we deluding ourselves that we are releasing our grip on our OCD?

-

We have control over very little in life. Ask God for the wisdom to discern what we can actually control, and surrender the rest to God and trust in Him.

-

When you think it’s too late for something to happen or materialise, it’s probably just in time for God’s plan to be revealed….as long as you don’t lose faith and you continue to trust. God is never late – he always comes through on time according to His plans for you.

-

Procrastinators and windmills are usually the last people to realise that this is what they are – they are mostly too busy making up their minds to identify it.
