Waiting Well

I have found this YouVersion Bible Devotional by Wendy Pope to be rather insightful in times of waiting.
This post includes the key points gleaned from it.
Invite God into your wait from the very beginning.
Though His presence I cannot see, God will not abandon me.
God is never not with me.
Experience peace in God’s pauses and plans.
Wait well by focusing on God, not my concerns.
Pauses are places meant to strengthen our resolve, not weaken our faith.
Evaluate how the wait is drawing us closer to the person of our faith.
God often chooses to lead us via a longer route so we can learn to trust Him more.
A longer wait will provide opportunities to experience Him and resolve our moving-forward issues.
Think of waiting as controlled preparation.
Per James 1:2 “So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely.”
As we step out in faith, He will open or close doors.
Let a test or challenge do its work so that you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way, ready for the next season in your life.
Lingering in our field will teach us the trustworthiness of God and the vastness of His ways.
Don’t think that extra prayer or scripture reading will definitely reduce the period of waiting. My praying and scripture reading do not make God more gracious – He is already a gracious and merciful God and He is unchanging, reliable and consistent.
God makes us wait at times so we can glean valuable lessons – He never does so out of spite.
Lift things up in surrender to His sovereignty.
Focus on His unchanging, unending love and faithful promises.
